Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant

There aren’t many standout dim sum places in Berkeley, but thankfully, there’s a much better selection in nearby cities, including Oakland, SF, and surprisingly Emeryville.

I’ve heard of “the dim sum place in Emeryville” for quite some time before I finally got the chance to try it out with my roommates. Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant, as it’s called, is a pretty standard dim sum place with one exception: it’s located next to the Emeryville Marina and has amazing views of the water leading to SF.

Apart from the breathtaking view, the dim sum is pretty decent, falling smack dab in the middle of my dim sum experiences. I’d definitely recommend the siu mai (pork dumplings), har gow (shrimp dumplings), and lo mai gai (sticky rice with chicken wrapped in lotus leaf).

All in all, a great time spent with friends enjoying good food and tea!
