PyeongChang Tofu House

Wow, it’s good to be back. I’m kicking off my new posts with a tasty Korean tofu house I visited with my roommates tonight. It was a cold evening, and we were craving something warm to eat that was away from campus. A quick Yelp search turned up PyeongChang Tofu House as one of the top-rated results. “It must be legit, just look at the name!” my roommate exclaimed. And off we went.

We arrived at a nondescript building with wooden doors. We entered and were promptly greeted by some friendly waiters, who seated us at a cool wooden cafeteria-style table/bench. I ordered the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bop because I was particularly hungry and needed some carbs. To my surprise (and delight), my order came with a small order of their well-known spicy tofu soup.

It was a delicious combination. The bi bim bop didn’t seem like much, but filled me up. Pretty standard stuff you’d find in any bi bim bop, and the ingredients were fresh and the clay pot real. The tofu soup was the highlight and I could see why the restaurant was so highly-rated – very flavorful, good balance of spiciness, and cooked-right tofu. We left feeling full and ready to nap.
