Manhattan Roast & Grill

A new burger joint in Berkeley is always exciting news. The fact that this one is located on Southside, right across the street from Asian Ghetto, makes it even better.

I’ve been to Manhattan Roast & Grill twice now, and I have to say it’s definitely the best bang-for-your-buck burger place in Berkeley.

Located above Pepe’s, this small restaurant has a mini-diner feel, with raised bar-style seating and a menu boasting of burgers, sandwiches, and even prime rib plates and turkey legs.

Great variety, and the prices are very good. I ordered their Manhattan burger, which included bacon strips and lots of avocado. Along with fries and a soft drink combo, the entire meal was around six bucks.

As for taste? I’d rate it at or above Bongo Burger, which is saying a lot since I love the mushroom burger from that place. Will be stopping by Manhattan Roast & Grill more in the future.
